Wednesday Night Men’s 9-Hole League

Beginning Wednesday, May 24 and concluding Wednesday, July 26, we invite you to join us for some fun, camaraderie, and competition.  Signups will open Thursday, May 4th @ 5pm, and the league is open to the first 54 participants.  This is open to all Male Classic & Signature Golf Members.

Format:

There will be 6 teams of 10 players each.

Each team will be comprised of 1 Golf Professional and 9 members.

Team captains will be – Mitchell Garza, Alex Romero, Koby Greene, Evan Wetzel, Travis Gregory & Cory Jones.  If you have a preference, please reach out to your preferred Professional and let them know that you would like to be part of their team and they will do their best to draft you.

Each team will play a match against a different team each week (5 total matches).

There will be 3 separate matches being conducted each week.

Matches will begin at 5:00 pm and both Live Oak & Yaupon courses will be utilized.

Matches will consist of the lowest 5 individual net scores added together to formulate a team score vs. their competitors team score.  The team with the lowest cumulative net score wins the match.  Each team must have at least 5 members playing each week.  All 10 team members may participate each week, but it is the lowest 5 net scores that will count for the team (the more team members show up, the more choices each team will have to formulate their team score).

Optional Gross & Net Skins $10.00.

$130.00 per player covers 10 weeks of matches and a pairings party at Smoked at the Oak on May 23 at 6:00 pm.

Thank You,

Keith Rader, PGA

Club Manager &

Head Golf Professional

2023 Jaws Classic
Men's Member-Guest

Invitation & Official Information Sheet

On behalf of your Classic Clubs and the Tournament Committee, I would like to invite you to play in the 2023 Jaws Classic Men’s Member-Guest on May 18-20. The cost for this year’s tournament is $700 per team.  Please visit the Club website          (ccc-2023jawsclassicmensmemberguest.golfgenius.com). Use GGID # YKDRWZ to log in. If your name does not appear in the drop-down menu, contact the Golf Shop at 512-261-7173 and we will add it. You will not be able to login with your email and password to register. Please note that sign-ups close on May 1, 2023.

The field will be limited to sixty, two-player teams, and the format will be match play. Teams will be divided into ten flights of six teams (by handicap) and every team will play five nine-hole matches against teams within their respective flight. Matches will be better ball of two – played at 90% as of May 9, 2022, USGA handicaps. Play will be from both blue & white tees (age plus handicap must equal 80 or more). There will be a 10-stroke maximum difference between partners. If the difference between the two players is more than 10 strokes, the higher handicapped player will be adjusted down to 10 strokes above his partner. Guests must have a verifiable handicap.

Our match play format will provide each member and their guest an opportunity to make many different acquaintances, as well as create an event that will be both fun and competitive. The tournament will conclude with all flight winners, and two wild card teams, competing in the exciting alternate-shot Shoot-Out to determine an overall champion. You will enjoy three fun-filled days of golf, great food, and camaraderie for your entry fee. All male Classic and Signature golf members are eligible to play. Your guest may not be a Classic or Signature golf member. The tournament is flighted by handicap, so everyone has an equal opportunity to compete. This is one of the premier events at your club…don’t miss it!

Last year’s event raised almost three thousand dollars for Colon Cancer research. If your business is interested in sponsoring our tournament, please contact Peter Thompson at Prthompson0728@live.com for more information on how you can contribute to the success of the event and help our charity.

Best Regards,
